Blood Pressure Screening at a Non-Government Tertiary Care Hospital in Bangladesh: A Pilot Study

Objective: The general Objective of this pilot study was to unveil the findings blood pressure screening program at a Non-Government Tertiary Care Hospital in Bangladesh. specific Objectives were find out socio-demographic profile participants, categorize readings according defined variables, select among participants who would require intervention and encourage people order adopt healthy diet as well lifestyle behaviors. Methods: It cross-sectional conducted outpatient department Chattagarm International Medical College (CIMCH), Shamsherpara, Chattogram from 16.05.2022 19.05.2022. volunteers 18 years or older wished get free checkup on observation world hypertension day CIMCH premises. Results: Altogether 232 patients participated program, 10.7% pre-hypertensives 11.2% had high pressure; none them visited any physician previously for checking pressure. Pre-existing hypertensives constituted 16.4% total participants; nearly half good compliance medication life style modification. maximum (26 51) ‘pre-hypertensive’ ‘high pressure’ 30-49 age group. Conclusion: Community based patient education covering wider area can be an effective approach reduce burden its conquences patient, family, society, nation, globe.
